After I bought theBronco, I had the trailer package installed by the dealer. When Moving out to Colorado, I will be towing a U-Haul trailer with all my necessities. My easy chair, Photography equipment, and yes, plenty of ski gear!

UHaul Trailer Used for the Move
It was a small trailer. I wanted something small and relatively light. The Bronco was new and the 1800 mile trip with even this trailer was a good workload for the break-in period.
Somehow, I managed to stuff all my wanted items inside. The rest were placed in a storage unit waiting for my next trip from Syracuse to Colorado.
I drove pretty much straight through. I made stops along the way. The first stop was in a rest area for a brief two hour nap somewhere on the plains. I was thankful for spending an entire night west of the Mississippi. Most of the night, there were red blinking lights on the horizon guiding me west, and I didn’t have to stare at the endless flat plains!
When the sun rose, I was in eastern Colorado. Long straight, nearly flat roads. However, the mountains were in the distance. For hours and hours it didn’t seem like I was getting any closer. I made my second stop east of Denver for breakfast and coffee. Unknowingly, there was a veteran discount. When asked, I showed my ID card. The discount was 50%!

Afterwards, traffic started to get heavier. I was moving from rural Colorado and getting closer to Denver.
When I finally arrived at my new home, my son-in-law was waiting for me. That was a happy sight! We unloaded the trailer and truck quickly. We even were able to return the trailer that afternoon.
Now I can relax! My son-in-law left for home. I had a couple days to unpack and start getting organized.
I did take time to explore the hiking trail that starts at the end of the driveway of our complex.
